When to use “None” in your property control drop-down in Spotfire

In the previous post, I mentioned that it wasn’t appropriate to check the box “Include (None) alternative” in the Property Control window. This is because we used the property control in the category axis, so if the drop down to “None”, then the graph would show no data.

This video explains when it makes sense to check that box and include “None” in your drop-down property control in Spotfire
I also show how to duplicate an existing drop down menu, change the property control, and control the “trellis by” and and “color by” options independently.

If the embedded player above isn’t working,¬†this video is also on YouTube:¬†https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0AK5aKe22I
